IDD Therapy spinal decompression for bulging discs, herniated discs, sciatica and nerve pain in East London.
IDD Therapy Spinal Decompression
At Leyton Osteopaths, we help people who are living with stubborn spinal problems that haven’t improved with manual therapy or rehabilitation alone.
Our team offers IDD Therapy, the advanced non-surgical spinal decompression treatment designed for persistent disc-related and nerve pain.
Many patients respond well to osteopathy, physical therapy and exercise. But when pain keeps returning, it is often because a specific disc or spinal segment is not healing or functioning properly.
IDD Therapy enables us to precisely target the injured level, gently decompressing the disc, improving mobility and helping to restore normal function as part of a structured programme of care.
This safe, computer-guided treatment is gentle, progressive and has helped thousands of people move forward when nothing else has made a lasting difference.

What is IDD Spinal Decompression?
IDD Therapy gently relieves pressure on targeted spinal discs and progressively restores function with a goal of long term pain resolution. At Leyton Osteopaths we use the Accu-SPINA system to deliver IDD Therapy, recognised globally as the gold standard in spinal decompression.
The First Step
The process begins with an IDD Therapy Initial Consultation. Here we will take a detailed case history, carry out all necessary neurological and orthopaedic testing, review your imaging (MRI) and discuss whether you are a suitable candidate for the treatment.
At this appointment you will also be provided with a set of exercises and protocols that will complement the IDD Therapy spinal decompression. If you have any questions or would like to discuss whether you are suitable for the treatment you can email us at leytonosteopaths@gmail.com
How The Treatment Works
By decompressing (taking pressure off) an injured or bulging/ herniated disc and gently working the soft
tissues, we can ease pain, improve mobility in the spine and allow the body’s natural healing
mechanisms to operate more efficiently. The goal is to work stiff ligaments and tight muscles, help the body to retract a disc bulge and to help restore function.
Spinal Decompression appointments last 45 minutes. This consists of 10 minutes heat therapy, 25–26 minutes spinal decompression and 10 minutes cold therapy afterwards. Patients
find the treatment comfortable, so much so that many actually fall asleep.
How Much Does It Cost?
The standard protocol for IDD Therapy is 20 sessions over a period of approximately eight weeks. The cost per session when purchasing 20 treatments is £80.
We ask for payment to be made in 1-2 instalments.
If purchasing 10 sessions the cost per treatment is £85.
Due to the nature of the treatment we do not recommend a treatment plan of less than 10 sessions.
Why Is A Course Of Treatment Required?
When back or neck pain has been present for a long time, the affected areas of the spine often become restricted and lose normal movement. Spinal discs depend on regular motion to stay healthy, as movement helps them absorb fluid and nutrients. When a disc has been compressed or irritated, restoring that movement is a key part of recovery.
IDD Therapy works by applying precisely controlled, computer-guided decompression to specific spinal levels. This gently separates the targeted vertebrae and encourages movement where it has been lost. Because this level of precision and force goes beyond what hands-on treatment alone can achieve, the traction forces are carefully increased over time in a controlled and progressive way.
Much like improving strength or fitness, meaningful change in the spine happens through gradual adaptation. The body needs repeated exposure to the right stimulus to respond and improve. For that reason, long-standing spinal pain cannot be resolved in a single session or even just a few treatments — it requires a structured course of care.
While it’s natural to hope for a quick fix, the reality is that persistent back pain develops over time and, in most cases, also takes time and consistency to improve.
